Layering the unique Cornish light and with a sensitive use of colour, my artwork capture the seas, coast and skies of the north coast of Cornwall which has long been shaped and battered by the weather drawn across the Atlantic ocean.
With influences of Rose Hilton, Joan Eardley and Bonnard in my painting, I filter out what is important from my daily walks, sea swimming and glimpses of the coast.
Large wave paintings come from being very close to nature in the sea. The large vistas and panoramas explore the fantastic Cornish light and every changing weather, finding the colour in the sky, sea and foreground taking a more detailed look at the tangled coastline of Cornish hedges and gorse.
