Layering the unique Cornish light and with a sensitive use of colour, my artwork capture the seas, coast and skies of the north coast of Cornwall. With influences of Rose Hilton, Joan Eardley and Bonnard in my painting, I filter out what is important from my daily walks, sea swimming and glimpses of the coast.
Large wave paintings come from being very close to nature in the sea. The large vistas and panoramas explore the fantastic Cornish light and every changing weather, finding the colour in the sky, sea and foreground taking a more detailed look at the tangled coastline of Cornish hedges and gorse.
Exclusive print editions on paper and canvas are available of Porthcothnan Blues as featured on Rick Stein’s Cornwall. The original will form part of a new collection of work to be shown in the Spring.
2021 was a busy year of sales, commissions and projects as well as jumping in the sea as much as time would allow. My work is in demand and I do not ‘churn out’ work. Each piece has it’s own story and time to develop and be finished.
FOLLOWING THE RICK STEIN PROGRAMME , I HAVE SOLD ALL ORIGINAL WORK. APOLOGIES IF DISAPPOINTED, I AM WORKING ON NEW WORK. Please look at my prints page .
I highly recommend you join my newsletter for first hand news from the studio.
